Garza wins runoff for Alamo City Commission

Alamo City Commission incumbent Maria Del Pilar Garza resoundingly defeated challenger Michael P. Benedetti on Saturday in a runoff election for Place 4 on the board.

Garza raked in 781 votes, 69.36% of the votes cast, while Benedetti won 345 votes, 30.64%.

Garza and Benedetti previously ran against each other and Lora “LJ” Gioeni in the November election, but Garza failed to secure a majority of the vote, prompting the runoff.

Garza campaigned with Mayor Diana Martinez and Oscar “Okie” Salinas, who won seats on the commission in the November election.
