Acura of the Rio Grande Valley entered the Holiday Season with a bang in the late November by first hosting the Valley Symphony Orchestra for a free Holiday Event and then following it up with a high powered fashion show by GlassHouse that became the trendy event to be at for the Fall 2019. All this just prior to the Thanksgiving shopping weekend of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
It was a shrewd marketing effort by the General Manager, Lionel Mascorro and Digital Director, Andree Fergoso, however they believe the slight disruption in sales effort was well worth it. “Both events were well attended, we have to thank Katie McCoy of the Valley Symphony for coordinating with us. The Fashion Fest 2019 by Mali Corpus was beyond our wildest expectations on Saturday.” Said Mascorro.

Indeed, the fashion show was such a hit it is rumored Acura of Rio Grande Valley is now actively seek top models for an upcoming broadcast campaign. The Valley is quickly developing its own fashion identity with influences from Monterrey, Mexico to the San Antonio- Austin market – Mcallen has become the “St. Louis Gateway” for fashion with a plethora of international boutiques, designers, and even chic nightlife. Acura both nationally and locally is quickly moving toward a younger, hipper audience and it’s A-SPEC line is specifically aimed at that demographic.
“The Valley is one of the youngest major markets in America, Instagram and Facebook are now more key to success and exposure than television. In order to be part of that conversation it can’t be just about the product, it’s about lifestyle. We’re going to integrate Acura and the A-SPEC model line into the luxury lifestyle of South Texas like it already is in major urban markets nationally.” Says Trent Cannon, Strategist at Acura RGV, “The Valley is just waking up to all that Acura has to offer.”
The huge multi-million dollar showroom of Acura is quite impressive in person nonetheless, whether or not the Honda-Acura bet will pay big dividends in the end remains to be seen. Acura Rio Grande Valley is expected to make another significant announcement in the beginning of December 2019.
