Mission suspects in custody on aggravated robbery allegations

Felix Vasquez Jr. and Rafael Polanco

MISSION — Four suspects here have been arrested on allegations of aggravated robbery.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office responded to two reports of robberies on Nov. 12: one at El Coyote Express Drive-Thru south of 4 Mile Line Road on Western Road west on Edgar Street, and the other at Chito’s Drive-Thru near 5 Mile Line Road and Brushline Road.

After viewing surveillance videos from the businesses, deputies were able to identify the same suspects at both drive-thrus. According to a news release, the suspects stole cigarettes and money.

The three suspects were driving what authorities described as a dark-colored car.

Felix Vasquez Jr., 18, and Rafael Polanco, 17, have been arraigned on two charges of aggravated robbery — with their bonds set at $25,000.

The other two suspects, both 16, are also in custody.
