The sheriff’s office is reporting that its landlines are now functional.
The Starr County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that its landlines are currently down.
It is unknown at the moment what caused the problem. According to sheriff’s spokesman Carlos Delgado, it appears to be a county-wide problem.
The 9-1-1 emergency system is still functioning properly. Anyone with any non-emergency situations is encouraged to call (956) 257-0960.
It is unknown when the lines will be back up.
