McALLEN — Police here are investigating the death of a 32-year-old man, whose body was found Monday inside a warehouse located off Military Highway.

According to Sgt. John Saenz of the McAllen Police Department, officers were called to the 4300 block of West Military Highway, where the man’s body was found inside Plateros Produce, a warehouse. The remains of a dog were also recovered in the same location.

Saenz said the man’s body showed no immediate signs of external trauma, but that an autopsy has been ordered as the death is currently under investigation.

Police also have yet to identify the man.

A source with knowledge of the circumstances surrounding the case, however, said the victim was from Chihuahua, Mexico and worked for Plateros Produce.

The man would stay overnight at the warehouse due to the long drive home, and that Plateros underwent fumigation over the weekend, according to the source.

The sergeant said Monday afternoon that the cause of death had not yet been determined.

Attempts to reach Plateros Produce for comment were unsuccessful as of press time Monday.
