PHARR — The Boys and Girls Club of Pharr held their annual Trunk or Treat event. Filling the parking lot at Main Unit, 1026 S Fir Street, over 1,500 attended the event to enjoy the night’s activities.
The event, which ran from 7 to 9 p.m., had fun attractions: creative trunks, candy, photo opportunities, and inflatable moon jumps.
The creative trunks were intricately decorated to compete for the winning title with the guests providing votes. Themes included, but were not limited to Toy Story, Christmas in October, and Candy Land.
Hosts of the trunks were composed of local businesses and organizations: Pharr Police Department, Pharr Fire Department, Arcade Dental, The Tooth Place, Wells Fargo, Idea Pharr, Crunch Fitness, Kiwanis Club, to name a few.
Candy donations for Trunk or Treat were provided by: HessAir, B2z Engineering, IBC Bank, Justice of the Peace Jaime “Jerry” Munoz, Terracon Consulting Engineers and Scientists, Sylvan Learning Center, Texas Regional Bank, Vic’s Auto Rebuilders, Precinct 2 County Commissioner Eddie Cantu, and Ronnie Cantu. Boys and Girls Club of Pharr are thankful for their contributions to ensure a fantastic event.
In the end, thousands of treats were distributed for the guests. The sense of community was elevated as family and friends enjoyed the evening together.
Serving youth and teens through its safe, positive, and educational Afterschool Program, Boys and Girls Club of Pharr is open Monday through Friday from 3 to 8 p.m., with traditional sites with Main Unit in Central Pharr, South Pharr Unit, and San Juan Unit.
