Edinburg woman reappointed to Texas Board of Nursing

AUSTIN – According to a statement released Monday, Edinburg nurse Laura Disque has been reappointed to the Texas Board of Nursing by Governor Greg Abbott, with a term set to expire January 31, 2025.

Disque was one of five appointees to the board.

The board oversees the practice of professional nursing, examination of students and standards of professional conduct for license holders, along with prescribing and publishing the minimum requirements and standards for course studies in various nursing degree programs, the release says.

Disque is a registered nurse and serves as the transplant administrator for Doctors Hospital at Renaissance. She is a member of the Society for Gastroenterology Nurses, American Organization for Nurse Leaders, American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association and the American Hospital Association.
