Edinburg holding rabies clinic Saturday

EDINBURG — The city of Edinburg has announced a rabies clinic for Saturday morning.

The clinic will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Richard E. Flores Stadium, located at 310 E. Palm Dr.

The city will be offering $6 rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats which are at least four months old.

City license tags will also be available at the rabies clinic. According to a city ordinance, pet owners are required to apply for a city pet license before the animal is six months old.

Under the ordinance, the city can seize and impound any dog or cat which is unlicensed or does not have the license displayed.

The fees for the licenses are $10 for cats or dogs which have not been sterilized, and $5 for cats and dogs which are sterilized.

The clinic will also be offering microchips for $20.

The vaccinations will be provided and administered by Four Paws Animal Hospital.
