Mission man arrested, accused of masturbating in front of neighbor

Vicente Homero Lopez

Mission police arrested a man accused of masturbating at home with his garage door open, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Police arrested the man, Vicente Homero Lopez, of Mission, after a witness provided officials with a video showing Lopez “…masturbating in plain view on August 7, 2019,” the complaint stated.

The accuser told police she’s confronted Lopez before and even built a fence in an attempt to obstruct her view of his garage. But he “now appears to stand on something when he does it,” the document read.

The 79-year-old man has been accused of similar acts in the past. In January 2008, Lopez pleaded guilty in connection with a 2007 incident in which he masturbated in front of a woman, according to court documents.

During that hearing, Lopez was sentenced to 180 days in jail, which was deferred to community service that was ultimately dismissed in August 2008, records show.

Police charged Lopez with class B misdemeanor. If convicted, Lopez faces up to 180 days in county jail and a fine not to exceed $2,000.
