Palmview inmate charged with indecent exposure

An inmate at the Palmview city jail was charged last week with indecent exposure, a charge which stems from allegations that he masturbated in front of another inmate while in lockup, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Fulvio David Acosta, 43, was charged with indecent exposure Wednesday, Aug. 28, in connection with the incident, which occurred while he was confined in the Palmview Police Department jail at 400 West Veterans Blvd. That’s where fellow inmate Nelson Zambrano accused Acosta of exposing his genitals and masturbating in front of him, according to the affidavit.

Zambrano claimed that at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, Acosta exposed his penis and genitals and began touching himself in the cell across from him, looking at Zambrano and gesturing as he was scratching his genitals.

Palmview police officer Ruben Peña was notified of the situation and Acosta was charged for the offense of indecent exposure, a class B misdemeanor which if convicted is punishable by up to 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.
