For the second year in a row, McAllen has been chosen as host of the Texas Festival & Events Association Annual Conference, according to a news release from the city.

The TFEA comprises more than 450 festivals and events from Texas and bordering states, as well as Mexico, all of which will be represented from Aug. 9 through 11 at the McAllen Convention Center.

With a theme of “Ignite the Future. Ignite. Inspire. Imagine.” organizers expect attendees of the conference will be able to walk away feeling informed, entertained and educated about things they may be able to do to better their festivals, the release read.

“Thanks to TFEA, our member organizations have been able to not only learn from the best of the best, but also, share ideas and make contacts that will help them in planning and managing their festivals and events into premier productions that their communities can be proud of,” said Mike Baxter, director of marketing and tourism, CFEE, for the city of Tomball and 2019 president of TFEA.

In addition to the regular conference dates, a series of educational tracts will be held beginning Wednesday in order to allow the earning of credit from the Texas Event Management Institute.
