The McAllen Police Department accuses Miguel Martinez of masturbating inside an interview room at the police station while knowing he was being recorded.
When confronted by a detective, the McAllen man laughed, according to a probable cause affidavit for his arrest of indecent exposure.
On July 23, a detective placed Martinez in interview room 7 at the police department to interview him in reference to him being a suspect in an assault.
The detective left Martinez alone in the room and watched him remotely, seeing him pull up his shirt and expose his stomach, according to the affidavit.
“Miguel then pulls down the zipper to his blue jean pants and takes out his penis,” the affidavit read. “Miguel then begins to masturbate his penis knowing his is audio/video recorded.”
The detective walked back to interview room 7 to stop the man because he was offended and knew personnel with the IT department could have seen the incident, according to the affidavit.
Martinez confirmed he knew he was being recorded and laughed as the detective walked out of the room, the affidavit read.
Martinez is also accused of assaulting a man at 2:20 p.m. on July 18 on the 2600 block of Pecan Avenue, leaving the victim unconscious and covered in blood.
Authorities caught up with Martinez on July 22 and arrested him.
