Traffic stop leads to large narcotics seizure 

Multiple narcotics were seized during a traffic stop, according to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety. 

A DPS trooper stopped the driver of a Black Chevrolet Cruze on Depot Road north of Chapin Street for a traffic violation.

The trooper subsequently discovered four backpack style bags located and hidden throughout the vehicle, according to DPS.

Inside were 72 packages of THC, multiple sheets of THC wax, two glass jars of mushrooms, 65 individual bags of cocaine, 60 tabs of LSD, one bag containing less than 28 grams of Xanax, six plastic bags and seven jars of marijuana, the release read.

The driver, Maria Cristina Gonzalez, 27 of Edinburg, was arrested on four counts of felony manufacture or delivery of substance, and one count of felony of marijuana delivery.  

Gonzalez was transported and booked into the Hidalgo County jail.
