Pharr police arrested a 56-year-old Edinburg man July 24 accused of attempting to run down a vendor at the intersection of Veterans Boulevard and Interstate 2, according to court documents.
Severo Eliseo Rodriguez “became upset” because a vendor was selling water at an intersection and “began to chase” the vendor in a Chevrolet Astro van, according to the police report.
“While in the parking lot of 1200 E. Interstate 2, the defendant tried to run him over with his van,” the report read.
Rodriquez was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a first–degree felony. If convicted, Rodiguez faces five to 99 years in prison and an optional fine up to a $10,000.
