Arrest made in kidnapping, beating

Masked men with “AR type weapons” kidnapped, drugged, beat and burned two men on May 1, according to documents obtained by The Monitor from the Mission Municipal Court.

One victim told authorities on May 5 that one of five men hit him in the face with a rifle, put a black bag over his head and forced him into an SUV. They held the man for about 24 hours, drugged him with pills, beat him and burned him on his back, the report read.

The man was later “thrown out of the vehicle” into his front yard, according to the report.

With the information from another victim who reported being kidnapped the same day, Palmview police connected the incident to a May 6 shooting in the 1000 block of Ricardo Street.

A search warrant revealed evidence implicating a father and son who lived at the residence. Their identities are redacted in the documents.

Marco Antonio Elizondo, 23, was also implicated and was arrested. He faces three charges of aggravated kidnapping and one of engaging in organized criminal activity.

It’s unclear in the documents some details of Elizondo’s arrest.

Elizondo was identified in a photo lineup, according to the report.
