A member of the FBI’s evidence response team carries a box to a federal vehicle Thursday, when agents conducted “law enforcement operations” at the Texas Federal Wellness Center in Edinburg.

Exactly what’s under the microscope, however, remains unclear.

An FBI evidence response team remains at the center, located at 2715 W. Trenton Road in Edinburg, a healthcare facility with additional locations in Harlingen, Brownsville, Mission, Corpus Christi, Laredo and El Paso, according to its website.

Additionally, the United States Postal Service Office of the Inspector General is also on site.

The center’s website describes the services offered to members of the U.S. Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection, military and postal service as occupational and physical medicine, massage and aquatic therapy, chiropractic services, durable medical equipment and family practice.

An independent representative of the Federal Employee Compensation Act and claims specialists are also on staff, according to the website.

“There’s no public safety threat, but at this time I’m not authorized to comment why we’re there and what we’re doing,” Lee said Thursday.
