Last week’s relatively milder temperatures didn’t make it into this week, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasts show high numbers across the board for the next week.
McAllen’s high is currently forecast to be 102, with 103 in Rio Grande City and a whopping 106 in Zapata. Heading toward the coast, Brownsville should miss 100 degrees and clock in at 97 degrees for the day.
As usual, the coast is doing better than the rest of the Valley, though SPI and Port Mansfield are both predicted to hit 89 degrees today.
If those numbers aren’t bad enough, consider the heat index across the Valley could range from 105 to 110 degrees, so take care.
On the five-day forecast, things aren’t looking much better. Tuesday and Wednesday are sporting highs nearing 110, with a very slight cooling Thursday and Friday.
