Temperatures return to the hundreds today in some areas of the Valley, though a small chance for rain could help bring those numbers down slightly, according to the National Weather Service.
Zapata and Rio Grande City are currently headed toward highs of 100 degrees, while McAllen and the more central Valley cities will be hovering near 98 degrees.
A 20% to 30% chance of rain exists today across the board.
For the Fourth of July, however, things are looking good. Temperatures will remain the same, but there shouldn’t be any rain to get in the way of fireworks, NWS forecasts.
Temperatures are looking to increase to highs above 100 over the next five days with no more rain in sight. It looks to be clouds, sunshine and heat all the way through to Monday.
