While temperatures are forecast to remain below 100 degrees today, some Rio Grande Valley residents may be weary of the chance of rain in certain spots.
The recent rains managed to help bring temperatures down across the board, with Zapata seeing a high of only 96 today, with numbers dropping incrementally as you move east across the Valley.
Rain is only forecast in a couple areas. Perhaps most importantly, the Harlingen area has a 30 percent chance of rain, which could spell trouble since the area saw such bad flooding.
Residents should keep an eye out for rain and take precautions as necessary.
Rain remains a possibility throughout the week, though at a much lower chance. Highs are expected to break back into the hundreds just in time for the weekend, bringing potential heat indices as high as 106 degrees.
