For the first time in weeks, forecasts across the Rio Grande Valley show no temperatures in the triple digits and the possibility of rain carries on into a second day.
Still, the heat index in some areas may reach as high as 107 degrees, so caution should be taken when spending time outside on these hot, humid days.
Residents in flooded areas should take additional care today in the event of more rain. Across the Valley, rain chances are holding steady between a 25 and 60 percent chance, with a higher likelihood in the central section of the Valley.
Though temperatures today are relatively mild, the five-day outlook shows the 100s returning starting tomorrow, with a slight rain chance continuing into the weekend.
