As anticipation builds for superstar Jennifer Lopez’s 25-city “It’s My Party” concert, set for Saturday at Bert Ogden Arena, locals who have snagged tickets have expressed their excitement on social media.
Jaine Lopez posted on an event Facebook page, “Can’t wait for Saturday to finally see Jennifer Lopez perform and what an honor to have her come to our Valley.”
Cynthia Cazares commented on Lopez’s post, “Me too, got our tickets 3 months ago.”
The multi-award winning singer, actress and dancer decided to celebrate her 50th birthday by putting on the concert, which kicked off in Los Angeles on June 7 and will make a stop in Edinburg this weekend.
Ticket sales started in March, but seats are still available. The cheapest tickets are located on the upper and lower side, and start at $79.95. Floor tickets are the most expensive at $229.95.
In April 2018, Lopez was named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People, and in August 2018, she became the 2018 recipient of the MTV Video Music Award’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
With a cumulative film gross of more than $3.3 billion and global record sales exceeding 80 million, it’s clear that Jennifer Lopez established herself as one of the most influential performers of our time and will continue to dazzle audiences with her upcoming film television, and music productions.
This is Lopez’s first tour in six years. Her previous tour — Dance Again World Tour — sold more than 1 million tickets.
Since Lopez’s first album, “On the 6,” debuted in 1999 she has been transforming the global music scene and has had 16 top 10 hit songs and three No. 1 albums.
Her music achievements include winning three AMAs, three ASCAP Pop Music Awards, eight Billboard Latin Music Awards, two VMAs, and became the first woman to receive the lifetime achievement Icon Award at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards for outstanding contribution to pop music.
Lopez is also a two-time Grammy nominee.
