$33.4M marked for three Hidalgo County school districts

The Mission, La Joya and Sharyland school districts are in line for some additional funds, according to Rep. Henry Cuellar.

Rep. Cuellar announced today $33,397,691 for the school districts, authorized under Title I Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.

Mission CISD will receive $9,195,770 and Sharyland is set for $3,034,602. La Joya is in line for the lion’s share of the funds at $21,167,319.

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act is intended to help areas with high numbers of low-income families.
