The Rio Grande Valley today will see some relief from the extreme heat it has experienced in recent days, according to the National Weather Service in Brownsville.
The high temperatures will be in the lower to mid 90s, and there will be a 40% chance for showers and/or thunderstorms.
Monday’s highs will be 94 in McAllen, 91 in Brownsville and 84 in South Padre Island.
Looking ahead, there will be a 40% chance for rain Tuesday and Wednesday. The cooler temps only last a few days before highs start to climb back into the 100s by the weekend.
