Most of the Rio Grande Valley will be under an Excessive Heat Warning between noon and 7 p.m. Saturday. The rest of the Valley will be under a heat advisory.
The combination of hot temperatures and humidity contribute to the conditions, according to the National Weather Service in Brownsville.
Temperatures in Brownsville and McAllen will feel like 119 degrees. The actual highs will be 106 in McAllen and 102 in Brownsville.
The NWS advises Valley residents to practice heat safety — stay hydrated, limit your exposure outside during the afternoon hours, and look out for the elderly, the young and pets.
