Friday will be similar to Thursday — hot and humid with partly cloudy skies across deep South Texas, according to the National Weather Service in Brownsville.
The afternoon sea breeze could potentially produce rain showers and/or thunderstorms, but the chances are slight at 15 to 20%.
Today’s highs will be 94 in Brownsville, 98 in McAllen and 87 in South Padre Island.
Looking ahead, nothing changes much. There is a slight chance for showers and or thunderstorms generated from the sea breeze Saturday to Monday. Rain chances will increase Tuesday and Wednesday as tropical moisture increases from the south.
Afternoon highs over the next five days will be near normal. From Saturday to Monday, “feels like” high temperatures will range between 102 and 107 degrees.
