CBP: Officers seize $1.7 million in liquid meth at Hidalgo International Bridge

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested an Edinburg man Wednesday at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge after discovering $1.7 million worth of alleged liquid methamphetamine concealed within a pickup truck he was driving, according to a CBP news release.

The seizure occurred after CBP officers referred the 48-year-old male’s gray 2002 Ford F-150 for further inspection, which resulted in the discovery of 37 packages of the alleged methamphetamine hidden within the pickup. CBP seized the narcotics, which weighed 86.90 pounds, and the truck.

The man was arrested and turned him over to the custody of Homeland Security Investigations agents for further investigation, the release states.
