Police: Man robbed, shot Wednesday night in McAllen

A man is recovering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound after a reported robbery at approximately 9:25 p.m. on Wednesday near 12th Street and Pecan Boulevard, according to the McAllen Police Department.

The man brandished a handgun and demanded money, according to police. Personal items were taken from the victim before he was shot, and the man fled on foot wearing dark clothing.
