Starr County and the southern portions of Hidalgo County will be under a heat advisory from 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Brownsville.
High temperatures and humidity will cause “Feels Like” temperatures to be in the 111- to 115-degree range.
The National Weather Service warns to limit activity and to take frequent brakes if outdoors. You should also drink plenty of water, wear light-weight and colored clothing and make sure to use sunscreen.
Today, Rio Grande City and McAllen will be 99 and 98, respectively. Brownsville is expected to be 95, and South Padre Island 83.
