Triple-digit heat expected Tuesday in the Rio Grande Valley

A very hot and breezy day is expected Tuesday across the Rio Grande Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Brownsville.

The lower Valley will experience temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. Temperatures in the upper Valley will likely reach triple digits. “Feels like” temperatures will range between 100 and 108 degrees.

Rio Grande City and McAllen are expected to be 101 and 100, respectively. Brownsville’s high will be 96. South Padre Island will reach 84.

The National Weather Service warns to drink plenty of water and use sunscreen if you have outdoor plans.
