Expect a mild day with slightly below-average temperatures and mostly cloudy skies Monday in the Rio Grande Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Brownsville.
There is also a 30 percent chance for rain and thunderstorms. Highs in Brownsville and McAllen will be 86 and 87, respectively.
Looking ahead, there is a 50 percent chance for rain and thunderstorms Tuesday. Rain chances for Wednesday, however, will drop to 20 percent by Wednesday. The rest of the work week looks to be rain free.
Expect temperatures to rise as the week progresses. Highs will range between the upper 80s to upper 90s on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
