Viral photos of Tiger on the banks of the Rio Grande disputed by officials

The Eagle Pass News Leader published photos of a Tiger allegedly frolicking in the Rio Grande near Laredo.

The editor of the newspaper was quoted by the Houston Chronicle as saying that the photos of the Tiger had been circulating on social media and were published by a newspaper in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.

Officials, however, have disputed the photos, according to the Houston Chronicle. One Texas Game Warden said the area in which the photo was taken did not look like an area along the river.

The story is similar to a story last year when Border Patrol agents came across a tiger cub in a duffel bag near the river in Brownsville. The cub was taken to the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville.
