There will be a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms today in the Rio Grande Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Brownsville.
The National Weather Service has put the Valley under a severe thunderstorm watch until 1 p.m. If thunderstorms do form, they could pose a threat with large hail and damaging winds.
Otherwise, Thursday should be another warm, breezy and hazy day. Afternoon temperatures will be slightly cooler than previous days, mainly due to cloud cover. Expect highs to be in the upper 80s to lower 90s across much of the area. Southeast winds are expected to remain breezy, sustained around 15 to 20 mph.
