Expect a hot, breezy and hazy Thursday in the Rio Grande Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Brownsville.
Afternoon high temperatures will warm up into the 90s in most locations and lower to mid 80s along the coast. Hazy skies will linger over the area as well, especially across the lower to mid-valley. Southeast winds will increase by mid-late morning, becoming breezy and gusty by the afternoon.
McAllen will be 94 and Brownsville 89. South Padre Island’s high is expected to be 79.
Rain and thunderstorm chances will increase late tonight and into early next week as a front sags southward across Texas. Best chances of rain is forecast to be overnight Friday night into Saturday morning.
Warm, breezy and humid conditions over the next five days with near- to above-average temperatures will continue, featuring afternoon highs generally in the 80s and 90s and overnight lows in the 60s and 70s.
