WATCH NOW: Edinburg CISD bond discussion

The Monitor is hosting a panel discussion on the upcoming Edinburg school district bond election as part of its Monitor Debate series.

The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District is asking voters for a $220 million bond that, if approved, would fund the construction of a new high school and middle school, among other things. Early voting begins Monday and Election Day is May 4.

Monitor staff writer Naxiely Lopez-Puente is moderating the discussion with ECISD board president Robert Peña speaking in support of the bond’s passage and ECISD school board member Mike Farias making an argument against it.
