Watch the city of McAllen District 4 debate

The first of The Monitor’s six live debates sponsored by IBC Bank took place Wednesday.

The debate featured city of McAllen District 4 candidate Joe Calfia. His opponent, Tania Ramirez, declined to attend.

The debates will feature candidates for the two contested McAllen City Commission races and the four contested McAllen ISD places. The candidates will make their case about why they’re best suited for elected office.

The following is the debate schedule:

Thursday

>> Noon – McAllen ISD Place 4 candidates Tony Forina and Gina Karam-Millin

>> 2 p.m. – McAllen ISD Place 5 candidates Daniel Vela and Don Delaney

Friday

>> 8:30 a.m. – McAllen ISD Place 1 candidates Marco Suarez and Juan Cano

>> 10 a.m. – McAllen ISD Place 2 candidates Conrado Alvarado and Lynse Guerra

>> Noon – City of McAllen District 5 candidates John Ingram, Victor Haddad and Mark Murray
