The Texas Department of Transportation will conduct a lane shift eastbound on Interstate 2/ U.S. Highway 83 between the 23rd Street and Main Street exits in McAllen, according to a news release.
That stretch of the interstate will be closed between 9 tonight to 5 a.m. Friday for the two-lane configuration and to place concrete barriers. This is part of the agency’s Bicentennial Project.
Eastbound drivers will need to exit at 23rd Street and then regain access just east of Main Street. Drivers are asked to heed traffic signs and to drive with caution.
