LETTER: Conflicting information

Mary Martinez’s letter on March 1 said that “… people crossing the border illegally are at a long-time low.” While in my truck that same morning, I was listening to a radio newscast. It reported that just in the Rio Grande Valley sector, illegal apprehensions were occurring at a rate that will total at 240,000 for 2019.

That may not be a new record, but sure doesn’t sound like a “long-time low.”
