Four armed men kidnapped 19 people after they stopped a passenger bus on its way to Reynosa last week near San Fernando, Mexico, according to various Mexican news outlets.
The incident happened Thursday afternoon near Kilometer 79 on the San Fernando-Reynosa highway, El Sol de Mexico reported Sunday. That stretch of highway is reportedly one of the most dangerous in the area.
In 2010, armed men kidnapped and killed 72 migrants, with authorities later finding their bodies in mass graves.
Of the 41 passengers traveling on the bus Thursday, only 22 made it to their final destination in Reynosa, the newspaper’s website stated.
