One teen is dead after an auto-pedestrian crash Friday night in Monte Alto, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety news release.
DPS is investigating the incident, which happened about 9:59 p.m. on Valdez Road east of Filegonia Road.
A black Ford Focus, occupied by a male driver and two female passengers, was driving westbound on Valdez Road when a pedestrian failed to yield and was struck, DPS stated in the release.
Servando Perez, a 14-year-old Monte Alto resident, was transported to Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle nor the passengers sustained any injuries.
