Temperatures will feel like the upper 20s and low 30s by the late afternoon Monday in the Rio Grande Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Brownsville.
Expect a cold and overcast day with light rain, patchy drizzle and breezy north winds as temperatures will continue to drop. Afternoon temps in McAllen will drop to 37. Brownsville will be 39, and South Padre Island 47.
Looking ahead, Tuesday and Wednesday will remain cool. Morning temperatures on Tuesday will be in the 30s but highs will be in the 50s. Low temperatures on Wednesday will range between 37 and 44 degrees with highs ranging between 54 and 62 degrees.
After Wednesday, the area will begin to warm up with the possibility of 90-degree weather by this weekend.
