A Mission man was killed earlier this morning in an auto-pedestrian collision, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety news release.
Jacobo Camacho, 23, was struck on FM 2221 and Brushline Road, which is north of Mission, at about 3:03 a.m. Wednesday morning, DPS stated in the release.
The incident occurred when Camacho, according to the agency, “failed to yield right of way and was struck” by a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500.
The Dodge, occupied only by a male driver, who authorities have not identified, was traveling eastbound on FM 2221 at the time.
The driver did not sustain any injuries in the collision. Camacho, of Mission, was pronounced dead upon being transported to Mission Regional Hospital.
Troopers are continuing to investigate the incident.
