A cool start to the day will eventually give way to inland temperatures reaching the lower to mid 70s on Thursday in the Rio Grande Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Brownsville.
Brownsville and McAllen will be 74 and 75, respectively. South Padre Island will reach a high of 66.
Expect warm, muggy and breezy conditions Friday and Saturday ahead of a weak cold front that is expected to arrive by mid-day Saturday. Behind the front, lower humidity and breezy conditions will create an elevated fire danger for the region.
On Friday, lows will range from 58 to 64 degrees with highs mostly in the upper 70s. Expect lows on Saturday to be in the 60s with highs ranging from 79 to 84 degrees.
