LETTER: Venezuela needs our help

Instead of being gleeful over Venezuela’s economic problems, the United States, Canada, much of Latin America and part of Europe should try to help Venezuela transition to peaceful change.

Many parts of the Venezuelan revolution of the past two decades deserve preservation: education, health care, citizen participation, especially by its large black population.

Venezuela’s issues only show how connected nations are; it’s a global world.

Help, you lands more fortunate, instead of butting in for governmental change and your own economic gain.

Eugene “Gene” Novogrodsky, Brownsville
