LETTER: Votes to lift sanctions warrant shame

Today, Jan. 16, 2019, Sens. Ted Cruz and John Cornyn along with other Republican senators voted to allow the administration to lift the sanctions on a Russian oligarch’s company. This occurred in spite of the fact that there is a direct connection to the leadership of the Russian government.

I always thought that our senators stood for the values of the United States and not for those of a dictatorship that opposes all of the values we strive to live up to. Sens. Cruz and Cornyn should be ashamed of their votes and need to explain why they would sell out their values for politics.
