Anzalduas Park to be closed for Trump’s visit

During his trip to the Rio Grande Valley, President Donald Trump is expected to make a stop at Anzalduas Park in Mission, according to the Hidalgo County Pct. 3 office.

Secret Service has been on site since Monday in preparation for his visit on Thursday. The park will be closed that day.

Attempts to reach officials at the park were unsuccessful.

The park sits along the Rio Grande in the shadow of the Anzalduas International Bridge and is frequently patrolled by Border Patrol agents attempting to intercept those crossing into the country illegally.

The story has been updated to include additional information about the park.
