LETTER: A critique on troop removal and deployments

Good start, President Donald Trump, with the total troop removal from Syria, and partial departure from Afghanistan.

Perhaps Congress and you can begin a discussion if the American troops abroad have created a safer United States and contributed to world peace. I say they haven’t.

While at it, begin to pare a bloated Pentagon budget.

Now, President Trump, imagine; you could initiate major steps toward a safer planet — an honorable legacy.

By the way, when planning more troop departures, at least speak to all the parties involved, friends and foes, before you act.
