Temperatures will reach the lower 70s Friday with a chance of light rain this evening and overnight, according to the National Weather Service in Brownsville.
A better chance for rain will be Saturday and Sunday as a cold front rolls through the area. On Saturday, high temps in the Rio Grande Valley will range from 50 to 64 degrees with overnight lows ranging from the upper 40s to the lower 60s. There is also a 40 percent chance of light rain.
High temperatures on Sunday will be between 48 and 54 degrees on Sunday with lows again in the 40s.
As for New Year’s Eve on Monday, highs will be in the mid-60s with overnight lows in the 40s. There is a 30 percent chance of rain.
