Mission businesswoman appointed to statewide board

Sheila M. Valles-Pankratz of Mission has been appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott to the state’s Manufactured Housing Board, according to a news release.

Valles-Pankratz is a former board president of the Mission Library Board and commissioner of the Mission Housing Authority.

The Manufactured Housing Board, which consists of five members, regulates the manufactured housing industry in Texas. Ronald M. “Ronnie” Richards, co-owner of Butler’s Courtyard from Clear Lake Shores, and Keith C. Thompson, an attorney and principal at The Law Office of Keith C. Thompson PC from Lubbock, were re-appointed by the governor.

An executive vice president and co-owner of Hollis Rutledge and Associates Inc. as well as RGV Palm Properties LLC, Valles-Pankratz is also a former member and chair of the Hidalgo County Workforce Board Planning Committee and former member of the Mission Chamber of Commerce.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas – Pan American and a master of public administration, with a specialization in fiscal administration, from Ohio State University.

Her term ends Jan. 31, 2021.
