EDINBURG — Police are investigating a “major” collision between an ambulance and two other vehicles that killed two people.
The three-vehicle crash happened about 5:20 p.m. Sunday near the area of Jasmine and Monte Cristo roads, Lt. Oscar Treviño said. He did not identify the deceased.
It’s unclear what caused the collision, which remained under investigation Sunday night. The only information police released was that an Hidalgo County EMS ambulance was involved. Despite its name, the ambulance company is not associated with the county government.
Traffic investigators were assessing the scene Sunday, and police expect to release more information Monday morning.
