Alamo city commissioner arrested for DWI, open container

Some US troops to leave border this week; about 3K to remain

U.S. officials say active duty troops will begin leaving the southern U.S border this week and the number of forces there will go down to at least 3,000 by the holidays.

HCSO dispatcher killed in ‘major’ highway collision

Sandra Coronado, a dispatcher with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, was on her way to work early Sunday morning when her vehicle was struck by a suspected intoxicated driver, Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra said.
